The courtroom scene begins with the judge questioning Ibadat on why she refuses to divorce Subhan. The judge encourages her, stating that she deserves a better life, free from a man who doesn’t appreciate her love and has betrayed her trust. Ibadat, however, holds onto her marriage, not out of fear of failure but because of the depth of her love for Subhan.
Ibadat shares her story: She had loved Subhan since childhood, quietly dreaming of a future together but she never imposed her love upon him. When Subhan returned from abroad and confessed his love for Mannat, Ibadat sacrificed her feelings for his happiness. She even risked her life to unite him with Mannat, but Mannat fled the wedding leaving the family humiliated. Ultimately, Ibadat married Subhan to save their family’s honor even offering him the choice to be with Mannat.
As the judge listens, Subhan’s eyes fill with emotion, realizing the loyalty and love Ibadat has consistently shown. But Mannat interjects determined to win Subhan back. She shocks everyone by accusing Ibadat of being “characterless,” displaying a photo of Ibadat with another man, Arman, and suggesting that Ibadat has had multiple relationships.
The judge, unimpressed by Mannat’s behavior and lack of decorum, admonishes her for making baseless accusations without proof. Ibadat, standing strong, pleads with Subhan to understand her genuine love, making it clear that if he chooses to leave her, she will not oppose him. Yet, Mannat’s relentless attacks leave Subhan torn, grappling with his emotions as the court deliberates.
